DF Capital sponsors LAMMA Young Engineer Award
DF Capital was delighted to be the main sponsor of this year’s Young Engineer Award at LAMMA, which was won by agricultural engineer and entrepreneur from Co. Tyrone, Daniel Broderick.
The award recognises individuals who are pushing the boundaries of modern engineering and creating genuinely new economic opportunities, benefitting farms and the environment in the process.
Daniel was revealed as the winner on day two of the show at the NEC, Birmingham in January for his Cubi-Care machine. The machine, which he has been working on since 2013, makes the process of cleaning dairy cow cubicles much quicker and easier. Inspiration for the machine came from seeing how laborious the process of manual cubicle cleaning was on his uncle’s dairy farm. After developing a prototype which his uncle trialled on the farm, Daniel has now started to develop it commercially.
Will Jones, head of marketing at DF Capital said: “Sustainability, innovation and continuous improvement are all things we want to really focus on, so we were delighted to sponsor the award.”
“As a long-time supporter of the next generation of talent in a workplace, we applaud the innovative thinking, hard work and skills of the young engineers who enter this award. They are fantastic role models for any young person considering joining the engineering or farming profession.”
