Are you a UK based bank?
Yes. We are a UK based bank with a head office in Manchester.
What are your opening hours?
We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, excluding Bank Holidays.
We occasionally may need to change these hours in special circumstances, if we do this we will always tell you.
Do you have any branches?
We are a digital only bank so do not have any branches. You can apply for an account online. All open accounts are managed through your online savings account.
Who authorises and regulates DF Capital?
DF Capital is a trading name of DF Capital Bank Limited, which is a subsidiary of Distribution Finance Capital Holdings plc and is registered in England and Wales (company number: 10198535). Registered office: St James’ Building, 61-95 Oxford Street, Manchester M1 6EJ.

Do your accounts have any fees or charges?
There are no charges for opening and operating a DF Capital savings account.
Can I open more than one savings account?
Yes. You can open multiple accounts subject to availability. The overall balance across all DF Capital accounts must not exceed the maximum deposit balance of £250,000.

Can I apply for a joint account?
No. We do not currently offer joint accounts.
Can I open an Individual Savings Account (ISA)?
No. We do not currently offer ISAs.
Can DF Capital Bank change the interest rate?
For fixed term accounts, the interest rate is fixed for the duration of the term.
For notice and easy access accounts, the interest rate is variable and can be changed at any point during the lifetime of the account. You will be notified of any changes to your interest rate and more information can be found in our Terms and Conditions, in section 25 and 28.
What is the interest rate on my account?
The interest rate can be found via your online account. For our current interest rates please see the Our Interest Rates page.
How is my interest paid?
For Fixed Term accounts, interest is calculated daily, and is either applied annually to your nominated bank account or at the end of the fixed term, where it can be withdrawn or reinvested.
For Easy Access and Notice Accounts, interest is calculated daily, applied and added to your DF Capital account balance on the 1st of every month.

When will my money start earning interest?
For Fixed Rate, Easy Access and Notice Accounts, you will start earning interest from the first day that your account is funded.

How do I open a savings account?
To open an account, you can apply online via our website. When you complete an application, we will check your eligibility and verify your identity.
If you are eligible and we can verify your identity we will be able to set up your account. If we need additional information from you to complete your application, you will be provided with details of what you need to send to us.
Am I eligible for a personal savings account?
Our savings accounts are available to individuals who are UK residents, have had a UK address for at least 3 years and are aged 18 or over. Applicants must also be liable to pay tax in the UK only.
What happens if I move abroad?
If you become a non-UK resident or you are planning to become a non-UK resident for tax purposes, you must inform us as soon as reasonably practical of your intention to do so and in any event, you must inform us before the date you become a non-UK resident. Your account will be closed in line with the terms and conditions of the account.
What do I need to open an account?
To open a savings account you will require the following information:
- A valid email address and telephone number
- Your address details
- Details of your personal UK current account from which you intend to make your deposit(s) from.
Accounts are available to individuals aged 18 and over. You must be resident in the UK and liable to pay tax only in the UK.

What happens after I apply for an account?
Once you have submitted your application, we will verify your address and identity. We do this by checking several electronic databases immediately after you submit your application.
Following this:- If your application is successful, you will receive an email with the bank details you need to fund your new account.
- If we need additional information from you to complete your application, you will be provided with details of what you need to send to us.
- If your application is unsuccessful, you will be advised that we are unable to open an account for you at this time.
What is a nominated account?
A nominated account is a UK bank or building society current account that you can make payments from and receive payments into. You must be named as an account holder on this account.
All deposits and withdrawals must be sent to and from your nominated account. If you send payments from an account other than your nominated account, your payments will not be accepted and will be returned to the account that they have come from.

Can I change my nominated account?
If you want to change your nominated account, you can do so by messaging us through your online account. We will ask for additional verification to prove that this is an account in your name.
Can I open more than one savings account?
Yes. You can open multiple accounts, subject to availability. The overall deposit limit is £250,000 across all DF Capital accounts.
How do I manage a DF Capital Savings account?
You can manage your account online and over the phone. If you have any queries, please contact our Savings team through your online account or call us on 0330 094 0162. Our operating hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, excluding Bank Holidays.
What are your identification requirements?
When you apply to open an account, we are required by law to verify your identity to comply with money laundering regulations.
We do this by checking your identity and address electronically through several databases. In some cases, we may need to ask you to send further identification by email.
If asked to do so, please email a scanned copy or electronic photo of your passport photo page and UK photo card driving licence to savings@dfcapital.bank. The name and address shown on your documents must match exactly with those stated in your application.
You will also be asked for a nominated bank account in which you choose to deposit money from and where withdrawals will be received (subject to the Terms and Conditions).

How do I pay money in to my savings account?
Deposits can be made by Faster Payments, BACS or CHAPs by contacting your bank or building society. Payments need to be sent from your nominated bank account using the following details:
Payee: Your name
Account number: Your DF Capital Account Number
Sort code: 60-84-10
Reference: Your Name
When making a payment, please ensure you select to make a ‘Personal Deposit’, using your first name and surname as the ‘Payee Name’.
How will I know if my deposit has been received and added to my account?
Payments will be applied to your savings account within one working day of receipt. Once we have received your payment, you will be notified by secure message.
How do I view my balance?
You can check your balance at any time through your online account.
How do I withdraw money from my account?
For Fixed Rate Deposit accounts, you have a cooling off period of 14 calendar days from the date you opened your account during which you can change your mind. If you decide that you don’t want the account, we’ll cancel it and return your money without interest, penalty or notice. Once this period has expired, no withdrawals, transfers out or closures are permitted until the maturity date unless in exceptional circumstances, see Terms and Conditions.
For Notice Accounts, you can request a withdrawal via your online account or by calling us on 0330 094 0162. After the final day of your notice period, we will process your payment and send it to your nominated account. There is a minimum withdrawal amount of £1,000 unless your account balance is lower, in which case you can only withdraw the whole balance.

Can I cancel my account if I change my mind?
Yes but only within the first 14 calendar days of opening the account. Please instruct us to close the account by sending a secure message through your online account or by calling us on 0330 094 0162.
How do I close my account?
For Notice Accounts and Easy Access accounts, your account will close once all funds have been withdrawn at your request.
For Fixed Rate Accounts, we will email you prior to the end of your fixed term to let you know your options. Upon maturity, we will carry out your instructions to either withdraw your money or reinvest in a new account. Your Fixed Rate account will then automatically close.
What happens when my Fixed Rate account matures?
We’ll contact you 30 days before the term of your Fixed Rate deposit ends to explain your options for either opening a new savings account with us or withdrawing your funds. We will also send a reminder 14 days before the maturity date. You can provide your maturity instructions through your online account.
If you ask to withdraw the matured funds they will be processed and sent to your nominated account on the day of maturity.
If we don’t hear from you by the maturity date, we will transfer your funds into an Easy Access Account and close your matured account.
The Easy Access Account allows the transfer of all or a partial amount of the funds to either a new Savings account with us or to your nominated account.

What should I do if I receive an unusual email or phone call claiming to be DF Capital?
We will never ask for information such as your password or full secret words. If you receive communication asking for these, please do not respond and contact us through our official contact channels.
What happens when my account is due to mature?
You will be contacted via email 30 and 14 days prior to your account maturing. 30 days prior to any of your accounts maturing you will be presented with your maturity options through the online savings platform where you can select your maturity options.

How do I request a withdrawal via online savings?
If you are a Notice Account or an Easy Access Account customer, you can request a withdrawal via your online account, or by calling us on 0330 094 0162.
How do I change my address, phone number and email address?
You can update your address, phone number and email address via your online account. Navigate to ‘My Services’ and ‘Personal Details’. You can then select to ‘Edit your Personal Details’. You can also update your marketing preferences here.
Can I access online banking on my smartphone or tablet?
Yes – you can access your online account on your smartphone or tablet using your web browser.
How do I change my password or passcode if I am worried about security?
Once logged in, you can change these details under ‘My Services’ and ‘Security Settings’.
What happens if I forget my log in details?
You can get a username reminder or reset your password and passcode by selecting the ‘Forgotten your Username/Password?’ links on the Sign In page.
How do I request a statement?
You can download a statement at any time by logging in to your online account and selecting ‘My Accounts’, ‘Account Details’ and ‘Transactions’.
Can I view all of my DF Capital Savings accounts online?
Yes, you can view all of your DF Capital Savings accounts and balances.

Am I eligible for a business savings account?
- Your business must be a small to medium enterprise to be eligible to apply for a business deposit account. This means your business must not have more than 250 employees, have a balance sheet of less than £36.5m and a turnover of less than £42.5m.
- Be a UK based business established and operating in the UK (excluding Channel Islands, Isle of Man & Republic of Ireland), and have a trading history for a minimum of two years.
- Your business must be a limited company that is registered with companies house with at least one director. You must not have more than 4 directors, or more than 2 layers of beneficial ownership, which ultimately must end in an individual.
- To apply, you must be a director of the business and authorised to open and manage the account.

How do I make a deposit?
Deposits can be made by Faster Payments, BACS or CHAPs from your nominated account. Please use the details provided in your welcome email which you can access via your online account.
For business savings accounts, you’ll need to make a minimum deposit of £20,000 within the first 14 days of opening the account to activate it.

How do I make a withdrawal?
For Business Fixed Rate Deposit accounts, if you decide that you don’t want the account, we’ll cancel it and return your money without interest, penalty or notice within the first 14 days of the account opening. Yes. You can open multiple accounts, subject to availability. The overall deposit limit is £250,000 across all DF Capital accounts.
How do I update my personal and business details?
You can update your personal details within your online savings account.

When do I receive interest on my savings account?

For Easy Access and Notice Accounts, interest is calculated daily, applied and added to your DF Capital account balance on the 1st of each month.
When will you send me statements for my business savings account?
For Business Fixed Rate accounts, you can download a statement at any time via your online account by selecting ‘My Accounts’, ‘Account Details’ and ‘Transactions’. You will also be provided with a closure statement upon maturity of your account.
For Business Easy Access and Notice accounts, you will be provided with an annual statement in April. You can also download a statement at any time by logging in to your online account and selecting ‘My Accounts’, ‘Account Details’ and ‘Transactions’.

What is early reinvestment?
Early reinvestment is an offering within DF Capital’s Fixed Rate Deposit accounts where we may invite you to consider reinvesting your current balance along with accrued interest into a new DF Capital Fixed Rate Deposit, over a new term, with a new rate.
What if change my mind about my early reinvestment account?
You can request to cancel the transfer within 14 calendar days after opening the account via secure message or telephone. If you choose to cancel within the first 14 days of your early reinvestment, we will reverse this transfer and revert your account to its original state. The account balance and interest will then revert as if the early reinvestment had not taken place. Once this period has expired, withdrawals, transfers out or closures are not permitted until the maturity date, unless in exceptional circumstances.
Will I always be offered the option for early reinvestment?
No. Our early reinvestment product is offered on discretion and will not necessarily be available during the life of your Fixed Rate Deposit.
What if I do not wish to select an early reinvestment option?
If you do not wish to take advantage of an early reinvestment, you will not need to take any actions. The Fixed Rate account you have will continue to accrue interest until the account has matured.
Can I reinvest into more than one early reinvestment account?
You can only reinvest into one early reinvestment account at one time.
What will happen to my interest if I select an early reinvestment?
If you elect to take advantage of an early reinvestment account, balance along with accrued interest will be automatically applied to your new account within one working day.
Will I still have the option to withdraw my funds at my original maturity date?
No. If you opt for early reinvestment, you will be fixed into your chosen rate and term.
