For the second year in a row, the entire bank spent an entire afternoon helping make a positive impact on the local community. Fourteen teams dispersed to various sites, engaging in both practical and guided activities to support the following organisations:

  • Groundwork Greater Manchester – a charity that works hard to create a greener, fairer and stronger future for all people, communities and places in Greater Manchester
  • Friends of Platt Fields – conservation work to help restore the Shakespearean Garden
  • JustLife – supports people living in temporary accommodation in moving away from homelessness
  • Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary – provides care and shelter for stray and neglected animals in need
  • LifeShare – helps meet the needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Manchester and Salford
  • RSPCA (Manchester branch) – specialists in animal rescue and furthering the welfare cause for all animals
  • Wood Street Mission – helps children and families living in poverty across Manchester and Salford
  • The Trussell Trust (across six locations: Burnage, Irlam & Cadishead, Oldham, Salford, Stockport) – a nationwide network of food banks aiming to provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people
  • Longsight & Ardwick Food Bank – an independent food bank
  • The Milk Bank @ Chester – the largest NHS milk bank in England which has provided donor milk to neonatal units in over 70 hospitals

In 2023, DF Capital colleagues collectively volunteered 1,800 hours. This year it has increased its paid volunteering leave to four days. One of the bank’s core commitments is to ‘Act Sustainably’ for its customers, communities, the environment, and employees, aiming to build a brighter future for all. This ongoing commitment to social responsibility reflects the bank’s values and highlights its dedication to being a responsible corporate citizen.

Carl D’Ammassa, CEO at DF Capital, commented: “Our annual Mega Giveback initiative is a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact and utilising our time, skills and knowledge to support the Greater Manchester community. By uniting in this effort, we not only bolster essential local charities but also foster stronger team cohesion. It’s inspiring to see the difference we can make when we work together towards a common goal. I am so proud of every single individual in this business for rolling up their sleeves and giving back.”
